What the Bill says:
The bill changes the language from “court must give great weight to drugs and opiates around children” to “presence of such drugs constitutes reasonable need to remove the child”.
Our Summary Opinion:
It is the opinion of OlympiaWatch team that the child safety surrounding the opiate and fentanyl issue is crisis level and laws such as this need to reflect the seriousness of our intent to protect kids. We recommend a PRO vote for this bill.
Status: The house bill has not been scheduled for a hearing since it was sent to the Early Learning and Human Services Committee on January 13th.
